Defensive Pistol 1

The goal of this class is to instruct students on proper safety, gun handling mechanics, and to significantly improve their defensive pistol shooting skills.  They will learn drills that increase their defensive accuracy and speed, over time, as they practice on their own or with a friend.  The ultimate goal is for the student to be able to pass the FBI Qualification Test.  While not required, this class is intended for students who already have their CWP and are serious about concealed carry.  The instructor has taught basic pistol, concealed carry, and personal protection classes for nearly 24 years and is certified by the NRA, and the states of Maryland and South Carolina.  The class is approximately 5 hours and cost $50.

Students are required to bring:  a defensive pistol, at least 250 rounds of ammunition, strong side or appendix holster (holster MUST cover the trigger guard), at least 3 magazines or 2 speed loaders if using a revolver, eye & ear protection, ability to reliably shoot paper plates at 7 yards and a good attitude.  Students are recommended to bring:  a hat, double magazine pouch, snap caps (for malfunction drills), a towel, water and food.  Students must NOT bring: a cross draw, shoulder or ankle holster.  Class capacity is 8 persons and pre-registration is required.
