Skeet League

Belton Gun Club’s 2026 Skeet League will start the week of April 6th. The goal of the league is to have some fun, meet some new people and actually get better. The league is open to men and women shooters of all levels from beginner to advanced. A handicap system is used so that even a beginner shooter can compete with anyone else.
The league will run for 8 weeks, shooting two 25 target rounds of skeet each week in a round robin style tournament. At the end of 8 weeks, we will announce the Woman’s Champion, Men’s Champion, Most Improved and High Overall winners. Last year competition in the various categories was very close right up to the last week of the league.
Although there is competition, the best part of the league last year was seeing the camaraderie and willingness of the better shooters to coach and help out the newer shooters. Last year, sixty percent of the shooters improved significantly by the time the league finished, with one person more than doubling her average.
The league will be limited to the first 20 applicants due to having only one skeet field for competition. We will take a poll and decide whether Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday evenings work best for most of the competitors. There is the ability to shoot on other days if the main day does not work with your schedule. Due to the difficulties in rescheduling the entire competition, participants need to be able and willing to shoot the majority of the 8 weeks.
